So I am just cleaning up the surface, so you can kind of see a bit more of what it looks like varnished. And when I was cleaning the painting I found that when it was previously painted the ear was cut a little bit short and it actually extends to here. So about half a centimeter of the bottom of the ear had been covered up. Now when I go back to reconstruct I can correct that and make sure that all that original paint is incorporated and the ear looks the way it was more intended to. Without art conservation artworks will die eventually and you wonamp;#39;t be able to see them anymore--damages canamp;#39;t be fixed and you lose history.
