Oh welcome to this video that looks at what an image actually is on a computer now if you think back to ancient times people used to make images using little colored stone blocks and they would arrange those blocks in an order and the way they ordered them would create an image now modern times nothing really has changed if you look very closely at your monitor youll see that the screen is made up of tiny little squares these squares are called pixels now the number of pixels you have on the screen is called your resolution Im going to show you how you can make a simple picture using nothing but a spreadsheet so Im going to create a Google spreadsheet and Ive got one here if you dont know how to do that you just go to your Google Drive okay if you go to your Google Drive go to create and then go to spreadsheet here is my spreadsheet now Ive got this picture of a space invaded here which Ive used by coloring in cells now Ive used a nifty little trick called conditional formatti

Digital images are made up of pixels . Each pixel in an image is made up of binary numbers. If we say that 1 is black (or on) and 0 is white (or off), then a simple black and white picture can be created using binary. In binary this can be represented using two bits per pixel: 00 white. 01 blue. 10 green. 11 red.
In effect, a bitmap is an array of binary data representing the values of pixels in an image or display. A GIF is an example of a graphics image file that has a bitmap.
Thresholding how to generate a binary image A binary image is obtained from a grey-scale image by following a process of information abstraction. Thresholding is the main techniques used at this stage. The initial step is to plot a histogram of the intensities of a grey-scale image. A threshold intensity is selected.
Steps Import the required library. In all the following examples, the required Python library is OpenCV. Read an the input image using cv2. imread(). Now convert this BGR image to grayscale image as below using cv2. cvtColor() function. Apply thresholding cv2. Display the converted binary image.
The Average method takes the average value of R, G, and B as the grayscale value. Grayscale = (R + G + B ) / 3. Grayscale = R / 3 + G / 3 + B / 3. Grayscale = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B. Y = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B U= (B-Y)*0.565 V= (R-Y)*0.713. Grayscale = Y.
BW = im2bw( X , cmap , level ) converts the indexed image X with colormap cmap to a binary image. BW = im2bw( RGB , level ) converts the truecolor image RGB to a binary image.
Average method You just have to take the average of three colors. Since its an RGB image, so it means that you have add r with g with b and then divide it by 3 to get your desired grayscale image. Its done in this way.
Approach: Read the image from the location. As a colored image has RGB layers in it and is more complex, convert it to its Grayscale form first. Set up a Threshold mark, pixels above the given mark will turn white, and below the mark will turn black.
