hello I thought that Iamp;#39;d address this in a video seeming as thereamp;#39;s been quite a few questions about why we have to take binder breaks anyway so for each day that you wear a binder you shouldnamp;#39;t wear the binder for more than eight hours because you can end up damaging your ribs or you could have trouble breathing this goes the same for you donamp;#39;t wear it when you go to sleep at night and you shouldnamp;#39;t really wear it when youamp;#39;re going to the gym there are alternatives of things that you can do if youamp;#39;re not binding sometimes I take a couple days in the week where I donamp;#39;t wear a binder at all um and if thereamp;#39;s something that you want to do to make yourself feel better you can wear baggier clothes or you can put on a sports bra personally the most difficult thing I find is that when I want to go and do some exercise obviously I canamp;#39;t wear a binder so I find it really tricky to like go and do that when Iamp;#39

If you use a binder, sports bras, compression shirts or the layered clothing method to minimize the size and appearance of your chest, there is no need, except for the rare exception (see below), to discontinue their usage up to the time of your top surgery.
CHEST MASCULINIZATION TransTape is made from a blend of 95% cotton and 5% spandex with a medical grade acrylic adhesive. It is latex-free and non-medicated, making it hypoallergenic. With this said, however, you may experience irritation, itching or redness or blistering after wearing TransTape.
If you wear a binder much, it causes the breast tissue to migrate into a different position. You can end up with very saggy breasts. Nobody has done a study on how quickly this happens. (Some bloggers suggest maybe a year, maybe several years, depending on how often you bind.)
Binding may impact the skins elasticity, which can affect healing and recovery. Healthcare professionals also recommend that a person stops binding 46 weeks before having top surgery. Very tight binding can increase the risk of infection or scarring.
In extreme cases, breast tissue can become permanently damaged, she says. Strong, prolonged pressure around the chest and back can also cause changes to normal spine alignment, which may result in chronic pain.
hest binding is a way for many trans men to curb dysphoria, and is a fairly common step in FTM transition. Binding refers to flattening breast tissue to create a male-appearing chest using a variety of materials and methods.
Its important for compression to be applied 24/7; it should feel snug but not too tight. You can readjust the compression binder if needed, but should be minimized to avoid excessive contact.
Bind less if you are planning to have top surgery. Some FtM (Female to Male transgender) mastectomy researchers feel that longterm binding may cause a decrease in skin quality, specifically elasticity, which can actually make performing a mastectomy more complex (5).
