Select Layout Margins. Select Custom Margins. In Margins, use the Up and Down arrows to enter the values you want.
Margins are very important when it comes to binding. No margins = Text/images cut off in the binding process. For single-sided printing, we recommend a margin of 3cm on the left side and 2.5 cm on the other three sides. For double-sided printing, we recommend a margin of 2.5 cm on all four sides.
The binding edge is the Inside, and the free edge is the Outside. Often you will want the Inside margin to be larger, to allow for binding. This larger margin will alternate from left (Inside on a Recto page) to right (Inside on a Verso page).
Create a booklet or book Go to Layout Margins Custom Margins. Change the setting for Multiple pages to Book fold. To reserve space on the inside fold for binding, increase the width of the Gutter. You can add many embellishments to your booklets appearance. Select OK.
A binding margin is the vertical space without any text, on each page, used for stitching, drilling or whatever method is used to hold the pages together. The binding margin is measured in characters or braille cells on an embosser, or in inches or millimeters on a printer.
You can set either single- or double-sided pages for a document. For example, if you are printing a book, you would specify double-sided pages. You can set a margin for binding single-sided documents at the top, bottom, or along a side.
The inside edge margin sizes differ depending on your binding type: Paperback Book Printing: 18mm on the binding edge. 15mm on the other edges. Hardback Book Printing: 19mm on the top and bottom edge, 18mm for the binding edge and 15mm for the outside edge.
Set the default margin Click PAGE LAYOUT Margins. At the bottom, click Custom Margins. In the Page Setup box, enter new values for the margins. Click the Set As Default button.
