Margins are very important when it comes to binding. No margins = Text/images cut off in the binding process. For single-sided printing, we recommend a margin of 3cm on the left side and 2.5 cm on the other three sides. For double-sided printing, we recommend a margin of 2.5 cm on all four sides.
8. What is the margin size of A5 size? The margin size of an A5 size paper is typically 5mm (millimetres) on all sides. This means that the total margin size for an A5 size paper is 20mm (millimetres).
Keep Out Of Trouble Rules For bound books 6x 9 or smaller, use 0.5 margins on the top, outside and bottom of books, and a 0.75 inside margin. For 8.5x11 documents (bound or unbound), use 1-inch margins. Adjust margins, font size, and columns to produce 65-70 characters per line (including spaces).
All copies of a thesis or dissertation must have the following uniform margins throughout the entire document: Left: 1 (or 1 1/4 to ensure sufficient room for binding the work if desired) Right: 1 Bottom: 1 (with allowances for page numbers; see section on Pagination) Top: 1
Spiral-Bound Book Design Tips For a spiral-bound book, always leave an added margin of at least 5 mm on the edge that well bind the book to allow for the holes. For example, if the book margin on the cutting side is 10 mm, on the binding side, you need to leave an 15 mm margin.
A binding margin is the vertical space without any text, on each page, used for stitching, drilling or whatever method is used to hold the pages together. The binding margin is measured in characters or braille cells on an embosser, or in inches or millimeters on a printer.
Use 1-inch margins on every side of the page for an APA Style paper. However, if you are writing a dissertation or thesis, your advisor or institution may specify different margins (e.g., a 1.5-inch left margin to accommodate binding).
