Tattoo ink is generally permanent, in the sense that it fades very gradually over a lifetime. The reason for this permanence is that tattoo ink is hydrophobic. Tattoo removal is difficult and painful, and the degree of success depends on the materials used.
Potentially Harmful Tattoo Ink Ingredients Heavy Metals: Inks should be free from heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and mercury, which can be toxic and pose serious health risks. Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Aromatic hydrocarbons like benzenes and toluene are known carcinogens and can cause skin irritation.
The inkjet ink binder is typically prepared by emulsion polymerization. The polymerization techniques used to prepare aqueous emulsion polymers are well known in the art.
In order to improve the adhesion performance with the ink, some printing materials must be treated with flame on the surface. If it is a metal material, it must be degreased and dust-removed before printing. After printing, it should be dried ing to the temperature required by the ink.
Ink binders can be categorized into the following polymer and resin types: acrylics, polyurethanes, polyamides, modified resins, hydrocarbon resins, and modified cellulosics.
Gelatin: this comes into play as a binding agent for inks. It is made from the boiled docHub tissue of cows and pigs. YIKES! Lastly, Shellac: this ingredient is used in tattoo ink and is made by crushing beetle shells, most commonly found in lady bugs.
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), a group of chemicals which are known carcinogens, was found in a fifth of the samples tested and in 83% of the black inks tested by NICNAS. Other hazardous components included barium, copper, mercury, amines and various colourants.
