The color of the bottle material also affects UV absorption and therefore its adhesion. In order to obtain good adhesion of the ink to the substrate, the bottle must be polarized so that the surface tension of the bottle docHubes not less than 3.810-2N/m (generally speaking, the ink has good adhesion to the substrate).
The inkjet ink binder is typically prepared by emulsion polymerization. The polymerization techniques used to prepare aqueous emulsion polymers are well known in the art.
Ink binders can be categorized into the following polymer and resin types: acrylics, polyurethanes, polyamides, modified resins, hydrocarbon resins, and modified cellulosics.
In order to improve the adhesion performance with the ink, some printing materials must be treated with flame on the surface. If it is a metal material, it must be degreased and dust-removed before printing. After printing, it should be dried ing to the temperature required by the ink.
Binders by Paint Type Acrylic Paints Acrylic paints are formulated with acrylic polymer emulsion binders. Highly durable, acrylic binders dry to a clear, flexible, water-resistant film. Oil Paints Oil paints are typically formulated with linseed, poppy, safflower or walnut oil binders.
Poor ink adhesion is most commonly a function of mismatching the ink series to the substrate. Where there are many different substrates there are also multiple ink chemistries, pre-treatments, additives and post cure methods available to meet customer expectations.
Some of the most effective mechanical methods used include sandblasting, wire brushing or abrasion with sandpaper or emery cloth. The surfaces must be cleaned both before and after abrasion in order to remove any pre-existing contaminants on the surface.
