However not everybody knows all the different things that it can do. Let me start off with a simple one. You can get the word count of your document by simply going to View, then Show Word Count or Shift Command W. This brings up the word count at the bottom of the screen. It tells you the word count of the entire document. But if you select some text it will tell you the word count of just that selection. If you click here you can see the character count with or without spaces, words, paragraphs, or pages. You can switch to one of those to be the default. Now hereamp;#39;s s

In the Pages app, under the Markup toolbar, tap the Sign button. From there, select Add or Remove Signature from the dropdown menu. Tap the Plus symbol to create a signature, then use your finger or stylus to sign in the box that appears. Once finished, tap Done and type a name for your signature.
Apply styles Select the text you want to format. Tip: If you place your cursor in a paragraph, the style is applied to the whole paragraph. On the Home tab, point to a style to preview it. Select a style.
For detailed instructions on how to do that, please see this article. Go to Finder - Applications - Preview app and open the app. In the menu bar, click Tools - Annotate - Signature - Manage Signatures. A new window will open. Your Signature will be created. Next, open a PDF document.
Based on the shape, signatures are made longer and more complicated so that they are not easy to be imitated. Initials, on the other hand, are a shorter form of signature and are made easier and simpler. Initial can be formed from the first letter of ones name. Initialing a document does not equate to signing it.
Create and use character styles in Pages on Mac Select the words you want to format. In the Format sidebar, click the Style button near the top. In the Font section, click the pop-up menu next to Character Styles, then choose a style.
Update a paragraph style Click anywhere in the text with the override. In the Format sidebar, do one of the following: If theres an Update button: Click Update. If theres only an asterisk: Click the style name, then move the pointer over the style name in the Paragraph Styles pop-up menu.
Paste the text with its current formatting into a new paragraph: Choose Edit Paste, or press Command-V on the keyboard. Paste and match the style of the text where youre pasting: Choose Edit Paste and Match Style.
You can use the Character Viewer to add special characters and symbols to text, such as math symbols, Latin characters, and pictographs. Click in the text where you want to place the character, then choose Edit Emoji Symbols (or press Control-Command-Space bar). The Character Viewer appears where you clicked.
