Click the Insert tab on the Word ribbon. Click Quick Parts in the Text group. Click Field to open the Field dialog box. Click FileName from the Field Names list. Click a capitalization format in the Format list. Check the box, if you want, to Add path to filename.
Merge tag is a bit of code that allows you to insert dynamic data into your campaigns. There are some pre-made merge tags, such as {{FirstName}} for your subscribers first name or {{SenderInfo}} for your business address.
In Word, click Mailings Start Mail Merge Step-by-Step Mail Merge Wizard to start the mail merge wizard. Choose Labels, and then click Next: Starting document. Choose Label options, select your label vendor and product number, and then click OK. Click Next: Select recipients.
Go to Insert Header or Footer. Select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Select Quick Parts and select Field. In the Field names list, choose the field you want (such as FileName, Date, Author, or Title), choose the format you want in the Field properties section.
Select OK. Select the list you want to sort. On the Home tab, click Sort. In the Sort Text dialog box: Under Sort by, select Paragraphs. Next to Type, select Text. Choose Ascending or Descending. Click OK.
If you want to personalize a document by including your recipients first names, insert the FirstName merge field on its own. Click or tap where you want the merge field. Choose the down-arrow under Insert Merge Field, and select a field. If you dont see your field name in the list, choose Insert Merge Field.
Click Personalization within a text field. Select First name from the list. Optional: in the Default text field, add text to display to recipients whose first name is not set. For example, if youre adding a first name to a line that says Hey FIRSTNAME, you can use there as the default text.
Add personalized content to your letter Add name, address, and other fields in your database through Merge Fields. Go to Mailings Insert Merge Field and select the field you want to add. Continue adding fields until youve added all the information you want on your letter. Choose OK.
