The most common way to pulling data from another sheet in Excel is to type an exclamation mark and a cell/range reference after the worksheet name. Since the worksheet name usually contains spaces, youd better enclose it in single quotes to avoid an error. For example; My Worksheet! $A$1.
How to link spreadsheets in Excel Open the source and the destination spreadsheets. Click on the cell you wish to link the source to and type = in your destination. Navigate to the spreadsheet you wish to use as the source. Click on the cell you wish to link to the destination and press enter.
To make an Excel document trusted, enable the active content within the file. This action marks the file as trusted and allows it to open without triggering security warnings. Note that files from unsafe or network locations may not be marked as trusted, and attempting to do so can prompt a Security Warning dialog box.
Enter the link Under the Clipboard group on your toolbar, click Paste. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, select Paste Link. The data from the source spreadsheet then appears in the new spreadsheet. When you click on each cell, you can see the link back to the source sheet in the formula bar.
#Binding in Code Create a new instance of the ExcelDataSource component. Use the ExcelDataSource. Depending on the data source type (Excel workbook or CSV file), create either a ExcelSourceOptions or CsvSourceOptions object. Set additional import options if required.
Copy the original table (Ctrl+C). Go to another worksheet and paste the table (Ctrl+V). Repeat this step for all worksheets you want to sync.
Select the cell or cells where you want to create the external reference. Type = (equal sign). Switch to the source workbook, and then click the worksheet that contains the cells that you want to link. Press F3, select the name that you want to link to and press Enter.
Protect an Excel file Select File Info. Select the Protect Workbook box and choose Encrypt with Password. Enter a password in the Password box, and then select OK. Confirm the password in the Reenter Password box, and then select OK.
