Iamp;#39;m engraving the top of this jewelry box for my wife with a 30 engraving bit this bit leaves a really small curve weamp;#39;re only cutting 02 in deep so less than a 302 of an inch and it is doing a really nice job with it however because that curve is so small sometimes the chips want to stick within that curve so to fix that all I do is I run the same exact tool path a second time and it takes care of any of the sawas that might be left in that curve leaving you with very little clean of work to do leaves a really nice engraving and does a great job highlighting the wood I use a profile cut here instead of just doing something like a vcarve cuz I love the contrast that it gives and still shows off that beautiful wood grain so it turned out really nice hopefully you guys enjoyed this one weamp;#39;ll catch you guys back out here in the next one have a great day everyone

There are two main methods for creating a color fill on glass: applying spray paint or rubbing an oil-based paint into the engraved areas. See the Engraving Glass guide for more information on processing glass.
The primary difference between them is that engraving is a physical process, and etching is a chemical process. An engraver uses sharp tools to cut lines directly into a surface, while an etcher burns lines into a surface with acid.
The best material to infill is acrylic because there is no grain which the excess paint can get caught into. Marbles, stones and slates all infill well depending on the colour of the material provided.
Antiquing: This paint-like process is very simple yet effective if you want to just touch up your engraving and make it a bit darker in order for it to stand out. The jeweler simply rubs the antiquing formula over the engraving, and lets it fill in the carving.
If you arent familiar with engraver filler, it is used to color etchings and engravings by filling them with a wax substance. One common place you can find it is on bowling balls manufacturer logos are etched into bowling balls, and engraver filler is used to give the logos color.

In case of hard metals, any mistake leaves irreversible effects. In soft metals like gold, any erroneous engraving can be corrected by suitable polishing. Any engraving related mistake in case of metal plating or rough surface may not be useful.
