Connect to your instance and navigate to /etc/pki/tls/private/. This is the directory where the server's private key for TLS is stored.
In the navigation pane, choose Elastic IPs. Choose Allocate Elastic IP address. For Public IPv4 address pool choose one of the following: Amazon's pool of IP addresses—If you want an IPv4 address to be allocated from Amazon's pool of IP addresses.
In the navigation pane, choose Instances. Select your instance, and choose Actions, Networking, Manage IP addresses. Expand the network interface. Under IPv6 addresses, choose Assign new IP address.
Answer. Once an EC2 instance is launched, it's assigned a private IP address at boot time. An instance's private IP address will never change during the lifetime of that instance.
If you want a static public IP you can assign an Elastic IP address to your instance, if you want a static private IP you can launch your instance inside a VPC. So, if you haven't already applied one of these solutions, there's no way to preserve its current IP.
Click the Elastic IPs link in the EC2 Dashboard. Click Allocate New Address and choose VPC or EC2 from the drop-down list, depending whether you're going to associate this IP with an instance in Amazon EC2-Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) or Amazon EC2-Classic, respectively. Click Yes, Allocate to confirm your choice.
In the navigation pane, choose Instances. Select your instance, and choose Actions, Networking, Manage IP addresses. Expand the network interface. Under IPv6 addresses, choose Assign new IP address.
Under the SSL certificate option, click on Change and from the Certificate type list choose the Upload a new SSL certificate to AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) option. Enter the certificate name, paste the content of the respective certificate files (ensure that they are PEM encoded), and click on Save.
To enable TLS on a server. Connect to your instance and confirm that Apache is running. If the returned value is not "enabled," start Apache and set it to start each time the system boots. To ensure that all of your software packages are up to date, perform a quick software update on your instance.
Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ . On the navigation pane, under Load Balancing, choose Load Balancers. Select your load balancer. On the Listeners tab, for SSL Certificate, choose Change.
