To Bind an Xref to the Current Drawing Click Insert tab Reference panel Dialog box launcher. Find. In the External References palette, select the reference name that you want to bind. Right-click, and click Bind. In the Bind Xrefs dialog box, select one of the following options: Click OK to close each dialog box.
Binding an xref to a drawing makes the xref a permanent part of the drawing and no longer an externally referenced file. You can bind the entire database of the xref drawing, including all its xref-dependent named objects (blocks, dimension styles, layers, linetypes, and text styles), by using the XREF Bind option.
The Bind option is the traditional behavior when binding References. Insert mode detaches the Reference and inserts the referenced drawing as Block (as if you used the InsertBlock command).
bind - Called once the directive is bound to the element. Called only once. inserted - Called once the element is inserted into the parent DOM. update - This hook is called when the element updates, but children havent been updated yet.
BIND allows for finer configuration and has full DNS Security Extensions support, but it has a longer history of security flaws than Microsofts DNS implementation. Microsoft DNS is easier to configure, so some argue that theres a smaller chance for configuration errors.
Bind converts the objects in the xref into a block reference. Named object definitions are added to the current drawing with a prefix of blockname $n$, where n is a number starting at 0. Insert also converts the objects in the xref into a block reference.
Known causes include are listed below: XREF has been edited in 3rd party software. File corruption. Proxy elements. Problem with the user profile in Windows.
The two methods of binding xrefs to the current drawing are Bind and Insert. Bind alters the definition table names of an xref when it is inserted. Insert does not alter the definition table names of an xref when it is inserted. To bind a nested xref, you must also select the parent xref.
