hey it's Jamie and this video is just a super quick guide to some tips on safe binding so the first thing I'm going to say is if you're thinking about binding I would always recommend buying an official binder and I never use things like ace bandages or duct tape or anything always go down the official route if you really can't and there are some places online where you can find some tips on DIY binding or you can use a sports bra and sort of clever layering but if you can always get an official binder so the length of time you wear a binder for is really important and it's highly recommended that you do not exceed 8 hours in any one chunk never double bind only wear one at a time you still are self-conscious about your chest I know it's really tempting to double bind but it's better to layer you know like a t-shirt and then a baggy a shirt over the top and can work wonders if I sleep in your binder that is it's just those sleeping when you take your binder off take a few deep breaths...

The binder should feel snug, but you should be able to take a deep breath. Take that deep breath as you feel more like you! But, if it hurts or you cannot take a full deep breath in, then your binder is too small.
Binding involves wrapping material tightly around the breasts to flatten them. It will not shrink breast tissue or prevent the breasts from growing, but binding can help the breasts look smaller and may make a person feel more comfortable. Talk to a doctor about the safest way to use a binder.
Trans Tape is adhesive tape designed to allow you to bind safely without a binder. It comes in a variety of colours for different skin tones, and also can be used for packing and tucking. You can also buy an oil to help remove the tape without damaging your skin. You can find out more about Trans Tape here.
To do this, cut the sleeves off, then cut the seams on both sides of the shirt. you now have two binders. To put this binder on, wrap it around your chest as tightly as you can without causing pain or discomfort. then, tie it in the front and tuck that piece into the binder between your breasts.
You should avoid wearing a binder for more than 8 hours. For people under 18, we recommend taking it off after 6 hours. If you have to wear it for longer than this, we suggest going to the bathroom or another private space and removing your binder for 5 – 10 minutes to stretch out your muscles and chest.
Different Binding Methods Bandages. Our first tip: don't bind with bandages. ... Layering shirts. This can be super useful if you've already bound your chest and you still have some visible chest tissue, or if you don't own anything to bind with. ... Sports bra method. ... Neoprene. ... Sports compression wear. ... Professional binders.
Unsafe binding may lead to permanent deformation of the breasts, scarring, and lung constriction, and long-term binding may adversely affect the outcome of a future mastectomy.
Here are some tips to dress well without wearing a chest binder. Use an undershirt and smart layering. Most folks find layering to be a comfortable way to hide or neutralize their chest without compression. ... Try a sports bra. ... Avoid wearing baggy clothing. ... Stick to darker colors and/or patterns. ... Think vertical.
Because most binding methods involve tight compression of chest tissue, binding can sometimes result in pain, discomfort, and physical restrictions. If the binding material you are using doesn't breathe well, it can also create sores, rashes, or other skin irritation.
That said, even a dedicated binder is not without risk, and binding improperly or for too long can lead to chest and back pain, rib bruising and fractures, shortness of breath, overheating, and skin damage.
