Cross-Referencing Text Select the text that you want to use as a target for the cross-reference. Choose \Insert - Cross-reference\. In the \Type\ list, select \Set Reference\. Type a name for the target in the \Name\ box. Click \Insert\.
Three shortcuts are available for inserting cross-references: Ctrl + R, F: insert a figure reference. Ctrl + R, T: insert a table reference. Ctrl + R, E: insert an equation reference.
Insert the cross-reference On the Insert tab, click Cross-reference. In the Reference type box, click the drop-down list to pick what you want to link to. The list of whats available depends on the type of item (heading, page number, etc.) youre linking to.
This can be inserted in the text of the document using Insert ▸ Indexes and Tables ▸ Bibliography Entry and selecting the item from the dropdown table of Identifiers, referred to in the dialogue as Short name or as number. Once an item is referred to it will appear in the bibliography table.
Referencing Other Sheets Open a new, empty spreadsheet. By way of example, enter the following formula in cell A1 of Sheet1: =Sheet2.A1. Click the Sheet 2 tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet. If you switch back to Sheet1, you will see the same content in cell A1 there.
