What is the difference between binding and value in JSF?

value attribute represents the value of the component. It is the text that you see inside your text box when you open the page in browser. binding attribute is used to bind your component to a bean property. For an example in your code your inputText component is bound to the bean like this.

What is the difference between binding and variable?

The binding can be changed during the execution of the program, allowing the variable to refer to different values at different times. So, while variables are the named locations used to store data, binding is the process of associating those variables with specific values.

What is the difference between #{} and ${} in JSF?

Those expressions that are evaluated immediately use the ${} syntax. Expressions whose evaluation is deferred use the #{} syntax. Because of its multiphase lifecycle, JavaServer Faces technology uses mostly deferred evaluation expressions.

What is binding in JSF?

A value reference is a read/write (or sometimes read-only) binding to a property on a backing bean or on an object accessible from a backing bean. A JSF binding is a binding of the actual JSF UI component to a property.
