all right A lot of my students ask me whatamp;#39;s the difference between a comma and a semicolon well they both perform somewhat similar functions but theyamp;#39;re very different so let me give you an example letamp;#39;s say I say for instance I hate cheese all right what a comma does is it separates an incomplete Clause from a complete clause and hereamp;#39;s how you know what an incomplete and a complete Clause is itamp;#39;s something called the insanity test for instance is not a complete sentence if you walked up to someone and said hey howamp;#39;s it going for instance theyamp;#39;d be like okay yeah for instance what not complete whereas this guy is complete I hate cheese you can do it in the other order too so you can say I hate cheese but I Love Sushi all right well if you walked up to someone and said I hate cheese you passed the sanity test they may wonder why you are so hellbent on talking about cheese all the time but at the end of the day it still makes sens
