We are looking at sentences to understand underlying patterns. These underlying patterns of language help us understand, how language functions with respect to human mind. Human mind decodes set of principles that help us understand these underlying patterns and thus, we are able to speak language. We have seen several examples of these underlying patterns so far at the levels of sounds, words and sentences. In order to continue looking at sentences to see a few more underlying patterns, today we are looking at - Binding. We have looked at referential expressions, we have looked at elements which are dependent on interpretations and these interpretations work at a different level of representation in human mind. The level of representation in the human mind where these interpretations take place is the same level where we have seen displacement taking place; that is deeper structure. Let us look at how binding works for giving us interpretations. So, we have seen three elements like an

What is SQL WITH? The SQL WITH clause, also known as a Common Table Expression (CTE), is used to create a temporary result set that can be referenced within a SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement. It makes complex queries more readable by breaking them into smaller, named, and reusable subqueries.
The WITH TIES options can be used to bring back more rows than what is specified in the TOP clause, when the last row returned has multiple rows with the same value.
WITH TIES might cause more rows to be returned than the value specified in expression. For example, if expression is set to 5 but two additional rows match the values of the ORDER BY columns in row 5, the result set will contain seven rows.
The WITH TIES clause would include rows that may be tied in last place within the limited result set. So if the last position in the SELECT TOP(10) PERCENT record set is a tie, then these tied records would be returned by the SELECT TOP statement. This will result in more than 10% of the full record set being returned.
The WITH clause lets you name one or several so-called common table expressions. This latter term is a term of art, and doesnt reflect the spellings of SQL keywords. It is normally abbreviated to CTE, and this acronym will be used throughout the rest of the whole of this WITH clause section.
To use bind variables, put one or more placeholders in the text of the SQL statement, then specify the variable (the value to be used) for each placeholder. Bind variables can prevent SQL injection attacks when you construct SQL statements with user input.
Bind variables are variables you create in SQL*Plus and then reference in PL/SQL or SQL. If you create a bind variable in SQL*Plus, you can use the variable as you would a declared variable in your PL/SQL subprogram and then access the variable from SQL*Plus.
Bind parametersalso called dynamic parameters or bind variablesare an alternative way to pass data to the database. Instead of putting the values directly into the SQL statement, you just use a placeholder like ? , :name or @name and provide the actual values using a separate API call.
