Binding path syntax. Use the Path property to specify the source value you want to bind to: In the simplest case, the Path property value is the name of the property of the source object to use for the binding, such as Path=PropertyName . Subproperties of a property can be specified by a similar syntax as in C#.
DataContext is one of the most useful concepts of Data Binding. DataContext is a property that is defined within FrameWorkElement. This is the default source of your bindings. For binding an object, we need some data from somewhere. There are a few ways to specify the source of data.
Data binding is a mechanism in XAML applications that provides a simple and easy way for Windows Runtime Apps using partial classes to display and interact with data. The management of data is entirely separated from the way the data is displayed in this mechanism.
However, when you define data bindings in XAML, there are multiple ways to set the BindingContext of the target object. Sometimes its set from the code-behind file, sometimes using a StaticResource or x:Static markup extension, and sometimes as the content of BindingContext property-element tags.
The WPF data binding model allows you to associate ValidationRules with your Binding object. For example, the following example binds a TextBox to a property named StartPrice and adds a ExceptionValidationRule object to the Binding. ValidationRules property.

If you have a common language runtime (CLR) object you would like to bind to from XAML, one way you can make the object available for binding is to define it as a resource and give it an x:Key . In the following example, you have a Person object with a string property named PersonName .
In WPF, you could use the ObjectDataProvider helper class to create a binding to a method and specify parameters. As with the constructor scenario, you can use x:Bind to bind to any instance or static method in your code.
