Bind operations are used to authenticate clients (and the users or applications behind them) to the directory server, to establish an authorization identity that will be used for subsequent operations processed on that connection, and to specify the LDAP protocol version that the client will use.

Advantages of OTT Authentication through a CIAM Single Sign-On allows your customers to access any of your web properties, mobile apps, and third-party systems with a single identity. OTT users perceive your enterprise as a single entity, and they expect you to treat them like a single customer.
The LDAP v2 defines three types of authentication: anonymous, simple (clear-text password), and Kerberos v4. The LDAP v3 supports anonymous, simple, and SASL authentication. SASL is the Simple Authentication and Security Layer (RFC 2222).
What does OTT mean? OTT stands for over-the-top and refers to technology (OTT services or platforms) that delivers streamed content via internet-connected devices.
In LDAP, authentication is supplied in the bind operation. Ldapv3 supports three types of authentication: anonymous, simple and SASL authentication. A client that sends a LDAP request without doing a bind is treated as an anonymous client.
OTP stands for One Time Password which is a unique security code generated through a validation network. OTT stands for Over The Top and refers to technology that delivers streamed content over the internet.
