You can send a meeting request to one or more people. Outlook reserves time on your calendar for the meeting and tracks who accepts the invitation. When you create a meeting request, you can add attachments, set a location, and use the Scheduling Assistant to choose the best time for your meeting.
You create a regular meeting invitation and save it as a template. Click FILE, Save As, click the down arrow next to Save as type, and click Outlook Template. It is important that you dont change where the template is saved. Give the template a name and click Save.
On the calendar screen, right click in the time slot/schedule where you want to add the placeholder. Right click on the placeholder. Click Add Appointment Based on Placeholder. Add the appointment as you normally would.
Your calendars can be viewed only by others to whom you have granted permissions. If the other person whose calendar you want to open has not granted you permission to view it, Outlook prompts you to ask the person for the permission that you need.
Turn an Appointment into a Meeting in Outlook Right click the appointment and select Invite Attendees. In the newly opened appointment window, enter a subject and location for your meeting. Type a name or names in the To box or click To to select a name or names.
Create or schedule an appointment From your Calendar folder, select New Appointment or click Ctrl+N. From any other folder, click Ctrl+Shift+A. Enter a subject, location, start time, and end time. Select Save Close to save your appointment.
The main difference is that appointments affects only your own calendar and in meetings you can invite others.
In your calendar, Appointments are just for you, Meetings are to invite people to. For a meeting, select New Meeting. Add people in the To field, and then enter a Subject and Location. Select a Start time and End time.
