Ive spent a great deal of time in the documentation and wrestling around trying to verify that what the documentation says about strongly named assemblies is true but from what I can tell the documentation is either wrong or I am stupid either one I will let you judge when we write c-sharp code and we have a key file that has a public and private key weve seen that in previous videos we give both of these and this doesnt have to be just one file it can be lots of files you get the idea we give both of these to this c-sharp compiler the c-sharp compiler generates an assembly a strongly named assembly signed by our private key in addition the c-sharp compiler also stores the public key right here now when we sign an assembly one well that means as most of the assembly is hashed meaning okay we have all this code to help us this data we have all the stuff that makes up an assembly lets run a hashing algorithm on it what algorithm thats used is use I dont know but basically a number
