hi Im Linda Tracy from my online training hub in this video were going to look at how I can use Excel to recreate this chart here and the interesting feature in this chart is that the vertical axis has these text labels now theres no native chart or easy way to retrieve this in Excel however what we do know is with a regular bar chart when you use one of those we have a vertical axis of text labels and when we insert a regular line chart we have a horizontal axis with text labels so what we want to do is combine the two charts and well do that with some dummy data first of all lets create our line chart now Ive laid my data out in a bit of an odd way just because this data here Ive had to recreate it manually I dont actually have the data to hand and Ive laid it out like this in order to achieve this effect of the lines so lets go ahead and insert a line chart now the first thing we need to do is select the data and remove the year as a series its Excel is thought that this

Right-click inside the text box and then click the formatting options that you want. You can also use the formatting buttons on the Ribbon (Home tab, Font group). To format the whole title, you can right-click it, click Format Chart Title, and then select the formatting options that you want.
To change the format of chart text, select the text, and then choose an option on the mini toolbar that appears. Or, on the Home tab, in the Font group, select the formatting that you want to use.
On the chart, click the text box that you want to move or resize. Do one of the following: To move the text box, position the cursor on the border of the text box so that it changes to a four-headed arrow, and then drag the text box to the location that you want.
Under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Select Data. In the Select Data Source dialog box, in the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the data series that you want to change the order of. Click the Move Up or Move Down arrows to move the data series to the position that you want.
Edit legend entries on the worksheet On the worksheet, click the cell that contains the name of the data series that appears as an entry in the chart legend. Type the new name, and then press ENTER. The new name automatically appears in the legend on the chart.
Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. Changes you make may break links to the source data on the worksheet.
Or, click the chart to open Chart Tools Design, and choose from many chart styles, types, and elements. To edit the data, right-click the chart and click Edit Data to reopen the spreadsheet. Changes in the spreadsheet show up automatically in the chart. Or, under Design, click Data Edit Data.
To align your charts in a straight fashion, you will want to do the following: Select one chart. Hold the Shift key down or Hold the CTRL key down. Select the second chart to align. Choose the Format Ribbon, then choose the Align menu in the Arrange group and then pick your alignment type.
Under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Select Data. In the Select Data Source dialog box, in the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the data series that you want to change the order of. Click the Move Up or Move Down arrows to move the data series to the position that you want.
Edit or rearrange a series Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. To rearrange a series, select it, and then click Move Up or Move Down .
