hey Junior heres a quick workshop on how to make sure you insert your graph correctly and labeled it properly into your research paper so heres the graph and you may remember the same graph from when we did the Journal of numeracy and first thing we want to make sure that it is not too big that takes up over half the size of my paper and we dont want to make it too small that its too hard to read in to decipher the information so looking at my ruler up here I can kind of see right now its between 3 7 which is about halfway of my paper that says why does Id like it to be I dont want it to take up so much text that my audience is focusing on the graph and on my writing okay so its a pretty good size next I want to make sure I had labeled it properly and this is this is kind of the tricky part so youre gonna go up to insert at the top and were looking for a text box should be here within text at kind of the right-hand side of your screen and we are going to select a simple te

Appendices should be formatted in traditional paragraph style and may incorporate text, figures, tables, equations, or footnotes. In an appendix, all figures, tables, and other visuals should be labelled with the letter of the corresponding appendix followed by a number indicating the order in which each appears.
Figures and tables are usually embedded in the text of your paper, after the end of a paragraph where a table or figure is first mentioned.
In Word, click where you want to insert the chart. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Chart. In the Insert Chart dialog box, click a chart, and then click OK. Enter your data into the spreadsheet that automatically opens with the chart.
Create a Recommended Chart Select the data you want to include in your chart. Click the Insert tab. Click Recommended Charts. Excel recommends charts based on the data you selected. Select the type of chart you want to use. Once you select a chart, a preview and description appear at the right. Click OK.
An appendix can contain textual information and/or visual information. If you feel that any tables, graphs, or images are too bulky or too distracting for the body of your paper, you can place these in an appendix.
Click the Insert tab, and then click the arrow next to Chart. Click a chart type, and then double-click the chart you want to add. When you insert a chart into Word or PowerPoint, an Excel worksheet opens that contains a table of sample data.
Figures should be: Centered on the page. Labeled (under the figure) with the figure number and appropriate descriptive title (Figure can be spelled out [Figure 1.] or abbreviated [Fig. Numbered in the order they appear in the text.
The title should concisely tell the reader what is in the graph. Avoid the obvious use of vs. or versus or the word plotted in the title. Graphs that will appear as a figure in a publication or in a formal laboratory report will not have a title (the information is given in the figure caption).
There are two methods for numbering Tables, Figures and other items: sequentially throughout the thesis, e.g. 1, 2, 3 chapter number first, then numbered sequentially within each chapter, e.g.:
