The best app to annotate and markup PDF files is Xodo. Xodo offers a free, cross-platform app to instantly annotate your PDFs with ease. Simply select and upload your file into the tool. When your PDF file is opened, use the annotation tools to add text, signatures, images, leave comments, and more.
These are the simple steps you must follow to markup a document: At the top of the panel bar is the Select tool, click on that to highlight the text for commands. In the Comment ribbon drop-down list, youll find the Text Markup Tool, while you can access others from the shortcut menu on the text selection.
Click on the Comment or Review tab on the right side of the window. Select the annotation tool you want to use (e.g., highlight, underline, text comment, sticky note). Click or drag your mouse to annotate the text or area of the PDF where you want to add the annotation.
Open a PDF in Acrobat and select the Comment tool. Add PDF annotations to your file. You can add text boxes and sticky notes, underline text, strikethrough content, highlight text and more. Save your file.
Annotate a PDF on Chrome in Google Drive Upload PDF File in Google Drive. Open Google Drive on Chrome and click on New File Upload. Open Your PDF in Google Docs. In the next step, open your PDF file with Google Docs. Apply the Annotation Options. Save the File as PDF.
To comment, select the text you would like to comment on, right-click, and select the comment icon from the drop-down menu. Type your comment in the box that appears. Save the comment by clicking the checkmark in the upper-right corner of the comment box. Save changes by clicking the floppy disk icon.
Having trouble making annotations and selecting the text on the page? This usually happens with scanned PDFS, due to a lack of embedded text in the document. Embedded text is what allows us to render your file as a collection of text rather than an image.
To open the annotation tools on the desktop app, in the File menu, go to View Tools Comment Open.
