Hello, my name is Marina DiStefano and Im a clinical molecular genetics fellow at Harvard, and a postdoc in the ClinGen Resource. This is part one of a three-part training series on transcript annotation and curation. Part 1 will discuss transcript annotation. This is an outline of the entire series. As I said, in this first part I will cover why transcript curation matters, citing examples from the hearing loss clinical domain. I will also provide an overview of transcript annotation bodies and their differences. Step 1 Open Google Docs New. For older files, click on File Open select the file. Step 2 Highlight the phrase or word to add an annotation to and click the Add Comment button beside. Step 3 Insert the comment you want to add.
Installing the Transcripts application In the column on the left, select the workspace(s) you want to the application to. Use the single arrow between the columns to move the selected workspaces over to the column on the right. Click Apply.
After logging in to Relativity, a list of workspaces you have access to appears. To access workspace documents, click on the name of the relevant workspace. The workspace opens with a list of available documents and you can begin your review.
In your browser, go to Xodo online and select the file from your local drive or cloud storage. Once your PDF is uploaded, use the Xodo PDF editing feature of your choice. Annotate paragraphs, sign PDF pages, insert comments, or edit PDF text.
How to annotate PDF files: Open a PDF in Acrobat and select the Comment tool. Add PDF annotations to your file. You can add text boxes and sticky notes, underline text, strikethrough content, highlight text, and more. Save your file.
How to annotate on Word using comments Open the document you want to annotate. Begin reviewing the document. Highlight the sentence or phrase you want to annotate. Navigate to the Review tab. Open the Comments window. Create a new comment. Add comments to the rest of the document.
Edit notes 1.In the transcript viewer, click the note that you want to edit. The Annotation dialog box appears. Click the Notes tab and locate the specific note or reply that you want to edit. Click Edit. Change the text and formatting, as necessary. Click Save. The edited note appears on the Notes tab. Click Close.
Weava. Weava is a tool that allows you to annotate websites and PDFs. Students can easily highlight sections in PDFs and websites and add notes to contextualize and enhance their learning. Using Weava Workspace, students can easily review and edit their highlights.
To upload a new transcript to a workspace from the Documents tab: Navigate to the Documents tab. Click the arrow on the right side of the Simple File Upload icon to open a drop-down menu, and then select New Transcript. Click Choose File or drag and drop your file to upload.
Make annotations To add text anywhere in your PDF, in the menu at the top of your screen, select Text . To add drawings and sign docs, select Annotate and make your edits with the pen, highlighter, and eraser tools.
