okay so in this video were going to look at annotation queries and how to link the log panels with the graphs they saw in the log ql section a few videos ago i quickly threw together a dashboard doing a count over time system journal one minute and the log panel just job system journal now throughout the day i get a lot of errors for invalid user for example here invalid user now id like to highlight those on the graph and for that i can use annotation queries so when creating an annotation query a good tool to use is the explore tab here so im going to select my job systemd journal and now perfect my query now this is a pretty easy query so its not going to take very long but im looking for the word invalid user and then shift enter to try that out and that shows me invalid user and im quite happy with that query so im going to copy that go back into my dashboard here it is this is the one that i set up i didnt actually name it yet but this is it now if i go to settings up he
