In this video tutorial, Tony Andrews, the product manager for Info Asset at Innovise, explains how to configure annotations and labels in Info Asset Manager. Building on a previous video that covered theme creation, he demonstrates how to enhance a combined SQL theme—showing pipe material and width—by adding annotations and labels. Three types of labeling are introduced: auto labels, custom labels, and tool tips. The tutorial begins with auto labels, showcasing an existing auto label for manhole IDs on the geoplan. Auto labels are described as easily toggled labels visible for all objects on the geoplan. The video aims to guide users in creating effective auto labels.

The first part of an annotation is usually a summary or description of the text. This involves briefly outlining the authors main points, as well as providing an overview of the approach or methodology they have used. As you read each source, focus on understanding the main ideas.
An annotation is a brief note following each citation listed on an annotated bibliography. The goal is to briefly summarize the source and/or explain why it is important for a topic. They are typically a single concise paragraph, but might be longer if you are summarizing and evaluating.
For example, a note that you scribble in the margin of your textbook is an annotation, as is an explanatory comment that you add to a list of tasks at work. Something that has had such notes added to it can be described as annotated.
The best annotated list contains a citation with at least the authors name, the original copyright date, the title of the Web page, and the uniform resource locator followed by a concisely written description of the contents of the site and why you found them important.
An annotated bibliography is a list of sources (books, articles, websites, etc.) with short paragraph about each source. An annotated bibliography is sometimes a useful step before drafting a research paper, or it can stand alone as an overview of the research available on a topic.
For example, a note that you scribble in the margin of your textbook is an annotation, as is an explanatory comment that you add to a list of tasks at work. Something that has had such notes added to it can be described as annotated.
An annotation may include the following information: A brief summary of the source. The sources strengths and weaknesses. Its conclusions. Why the source is relevant in your field of study. Its relationships to other studies in the field. An evaluation of the research methodology (if applicable)
For developers looking to build text datasets, here is a brief introduction to five common types of text annotation. Entity annotation. Entity linking. Text classification. Sentiment annotation. Linguistic annotation.
