Insert a text box in Office for Mac On the Insert menu, click Text Box. Click in your file where youd like to insert the text box, hold your mouse button down, then drag to draw the text box the size that you want. After youve drawn the text box click inside it to add text.
In the TextEdit app on your Mac, choose File Open. Select the document, then click Open. If your document is stored in iCloud Drive, you can select TextEdit in the iCloud section of the sidebar, then double-click your document. See Use iCloud Drive to store documents.
Add text in a text box Drag the text box to where you want it. If you cant move the box, click outside the box to deselect the text, then click the text once to select its text box. Type to replace the placeholder text.
Resize a text box Select the text box. Select one of the handles and drag until the text box is the size you want.
If youre using Word on Mac, go to the Insert tab, click the Text drop-down arrow, and then the Text Box arrow. You can then choose to draw a simple text box or one where the text inside is vertical. To draw your text box on either platform, drag the crosshairs to create the size you want.
Control-click the message, then choose Edit (or press Command-E). Make any changes, then press Return. The message is marked as Edited in the transcript.
To resize the text box, do one of the following: If the box is too small for the text: Select the text box, then drag the clipping indicator until all text is showing. You can also drag a selection handle. If the box is too large for the text: Select the text box, then drag a selection handle to resize the text box.
Adjust the text box margins Click the outer edge of the text box to select it. On the Shape Format tab, click Format Pane. Click the Shape Options tab if it isnt already selected. Click the text box icon. , and then click Text Box. You can adjust the left, right, top, and bottom margins.
