[Music] most data table interfaces are hard to scan and frustrating to use here are some design tips that will greatly improve the user experience navigation bars dont have to look like actual bars a bulky grid bar can distract users from viewing the data instead opt for minimalist tabs that blend into the background they appear less distracting so users can focus better [Music] the header is the most important element of a table and contains the labels to identify the data type in each column a header that looks like a regular table row is hard to spot at a glance instead make the header more distinct by highlighting it with a tank color many users dont know they can click a header item to sort the data in a column gray icons are weak visual cues that hide this function instead make the Sorting more obvious by applying a blue accent to the icons when the icons are easier to see users are more likely to click the header items the row borders of a cable dont have to be so dark too da

By default, most column data is left aligned. This helps make the data easily scannable, readable and comparable. The one exception is numeric data related to size. These numbers should be right aligned to help users identify number size.
Select any cell in the table. Select Design. In the Table Styles gallery, select the table style you want to apply. Note: To remove a table style, select Design.
Left-aligned text should be the default because it is easier to read than centered or right-aligned text. Text in the stub column should always be left-aligned. Column heading alignment should match the column alignment except that right-aligned columns should have centered headings.
A good data table has a clear header and description, so users know what theyre viewing. Designers must also use legible typography and adequate spacing between columns and rows to make it easy for users to read and absorb content. Lastly (and most importantly), your data table must be user-friendly.
Align text to the left When table text is not aligned to the left, users may find it difficult and frustrating to scan the content. By aligning the text to the left, the content becomes more scannable and easier to read, allowing users to quickly locate the information they need.
Use Table Styles to format an entire table Click in the table that you want to format. Under Table Tools, click the Design tab. In the Table Styles group, rest the pointer over each table style until you find a style that you want to use. Click the style to apply it to the table.
