hello this is Chris manard let me show you a cool trick when youamp;#39;re using filters to figure out the average and Max um first youamp;#39;ll turn on your filters go to data filter you have the drop- down arrows across your header row Iamp;#39;m going to pick the accounting department I want to know what the average salary is I canamp;#39;t use the average function use the subtotal function it even tells you here what the different numbers mean so average is one comma and then whatamp;#39;s my range it is F2 through F uh 19 is okay you want to pick up the entire range in case you change the filter so thereamp;#39;s our average if you want to know the highest itamp;#39;s subtotal itamp;#39;ll be the number four for Max and once again itamp;#39;s your range F2 through f19 and I ended up with 48,000 and thereamp;#39;s the 48,000 hereamp;#39;s whatamp;#39;s cool I changed the department from accounting to HR and thereamp;#39;s my average still using the subtotal function t
