thank you very much itamp;#39;s a real honor for me to give this lecture today and also to take part in this magnificent week celebrating the scientific life of even a year and so for this reason Iamp;#39;d like to thank the organizers for inviting me to these arbel events and so in this last lecture I will talk about wavelets of course and at some points wavelets will fade away and then weamp;#39;ll talk about sparsity and what we can do with it okay so at the beginning we have waves and then we have waves that very many different frequencies and at the beginning we also have signals and so hereamp;#39;s a one-dimensional signal and as you can see it has some discontinuities in this case it has two of them one here and one here and then we have all kinds of signals that can be 1d they can be two DS and we can see that we have transient phenomena edges and so we have lots of different signals and what was realized as youamp;#39;ve said about 200 years ago which to me is a magical
