A components state can change over time; whenever it changes, the component re-renders. The change in state can happen as a response to user action or system-generated events and these changes determine the behavior of the component and how it will render.
Only those who filed an Indiana resident tax return for the 2020 tax year by Dec. 31, 2021, qualified for the $125 ATR. DOR issued direct deposits beginning in May 2022 for those who qualified for the $125 refund and provided direct deposit information for their tax refund on their 2021 Indiana Income Tax return.
If you try to update state directly then it wont re-render the component.
So, why do we use setState rather than just mutating state directly? Well, React keeps a copy of the previous state and uses it as a reference point.
In other words, if we update state with plain JavaScript and not setState , it will not trigger a re-render and React will not display those (invalid) changes in state to our user. This is a simple, but crucial lesson to remember.
The state is a built-in React object that is used to contain data or information about the component. A components state can change over time; whenever it changes, the component re-renders.
