The more pixels an image contains, the bigger the file will be on your computer. Typically images will be supplied as JPEGs, and an A4 (210mm x 297mm or 8 x 11) image at 72 ppi will create a JPEG of approximately 500kb or half a megabyte.
To resize an image in Photoshop: Open your image in Photoshop. Go to Image, located at the top of the window. Select Image Size. A new window will open. To maintain the proportions of your image, click the box next to Constrain Proportions. Under Document Size: Save your file.
Convert your file Open the photos in RAW format, e.g. in Photoshop. Go to File and choose Save As and select from the list . jpg (it might appear as JPEG). Choose a compression between 90-100%, otherwise this leads to loss of quality.
All raw files require subsequent editing so, unless you want to edit your digital images, there is little point in shooting raw files.
Editing raw files is a two-stage process because raw files must first be converted into an editable format (either JpeG or TIFF), zo raw file shooters must make sure any raw conversion software or image-editing application they buy supports the raw images from the camera(s) they plan to use.

Located at the bottom-center of the Camera Raw plug-ins window youll find the Size pop-up menu. By default, the menu is set to the pixel dimensions of image as captured by the camera. However, you have the option of resizing the image to (for most cameras) 50%, 66.7%, 133%, 167%, and 200%.
Sharpen photos Use the Apply Sharpening To option in the Camera Raw preferences to specify whether sharpening is applied to all images or just to previews. Note: To open preferences from within Camera Raw, click the Open Preferences Dialog button in the toolbar. Zoom the preview image to at least 100%.
Using photo editing software like Capture One, you can easily transform your RAW images by adjusting elements like white balance, colors, shadows and highlights. To share and display your final edit, simply export it as a JPEG. The RAW file name extension depends on your camera brand Canon uses . CR2, Nikon uses .
This is normal. Jpeg files will always become smaller than the related raw files because there is a compression process that takes place by design in creating the jpeg file, yes even at maximum quality.
