Make sure that you include your hourly rate on the invoice along with the number of hours worked in the breakdown of services. Its usually best to create a table for this, with columns for the task description, hourly rate, number of hours worked and then the cost of this.
To reiterate, however, the total cost of the invoice must match the price of your initial quote; otherwise, you may have a hard time getting your contract paid.
Add the clients details, including company name, address, and contact information. Number and date the document. Add a description of the work carried out, the number of hours worked and the hourly rate you are charging. If there are different types of work or different rates, use separate lines.
They may communicate this information through words or put in writing. You should never agree to an estimate thinking that the given amount is exactly what you will pay. However, any increase in price should generally stay within 10 to 15% of that new final cost.

It also violates the California Business Professions Code, which makes it unlawful to charge a customer for an amount greater than the amount advertised, posted, marked, or quoted for that item and to charge a customer for an amount greater than the price posted on the item itself or on a shelf tag.
A quote is an offer to do a job for an exact price. If you accept the quote then the contractor cant charge you more than the agreed price. It is best to get the quote in writing in case there are any problems later. Decide exactly what you want done, when you need it done by, and get a written quote or estimate.
