IMO, the best approach is to specify the actual Paper Size for the Word document itself: Format Document Page Setup Paper Size. If there is a 4x6 dimension listed for your printer, select it there.
What to Know In Word, open a new blank document. Choose the Layout tab. Select Layout Orientation Landscape. In Layout Size, choose 4 x 6. Type what you want the card to say. Press Ctrl+Enter to generate a new card. Go to the Design tab to add a theme, color, or effects to the flashcard.
Select File Print. Under Settings, choose the color printing option, and any other options you want, and select the Print button.
How to Change Paper Size and Page Orientation in Word Click the Layout tab. Click the Size button. Select the size you want to use. If the size you want to use doesnt appear in the list, select More Paper Sizes. The Paper tab of the Page Setup dialog box appears, where you can enter a custom paper size.
Open the Word document you want to print and select the File tab. Select Print. By default, the paper size of the document defaults to the paper size of the printed output. Select the Paper size drop-down arrow and choose the output you prefer.
Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box. Click OK, and then close the Printers folder.
On the File menu, click Page Setup. In Page Setup, select a size from the Paper Size list. If you select Manage Custom Sizes from the list, you can define a custom paper size; click the plus sign to create a new paper definition, and then enter sizes for width, height, and non-printable area.
