Understanding high-quality print settings 300 dpi does the trick. 600 dpi looks great with graphics. 1200 dpi is ready to be sent to the company executives. 1440+ dpi is professional-level photographic print quality.
RAW means that Windows is expecting the printer to be ready for the format (PCL or PS) that it is sending to the printer. Its a straight dump to the printer. LPR uses a small client/server model to communicate with the print spooler. It basically uses a small client to relay the data to the print servers daemon.
RAW printing is sending a string of commands to a printer directly in its native language. Many printers that are popular with PrintNode users support this. RAW printing bypasses the printers drivers, making it very fast and reliable.
Additionally, shooting in RAW doesnt just make for better edits; it makes for better quality images overall - especially when being blown up to bigger sizes for printing custom wall art. Since the camera does not process the photos, the end result is photos that appear more life-like and realistic.
The age-old question remains Should I be shooting my images in RAW or JPEG?. The answer to that question really boils down to your end goal. If you are taking your camera out with the intent to capture high-quality imagery for printing purposes, RAW should always be your go-to.
The Basics. Every printer comes with a few print quality settings that can easily be adjusted in the Printer Settings or Printer Properties menu. Choose the Right Paper. Choose the Right Printer Cartridges. Understanding Dots per Inch (DPI) Use Original Files.
Raw has more options for correcting exposure issues With a JPEG, white balance is applied by the camera, and there are fewer options to modify it in post-processing. With a raw file, you have complete control over white balance when editing the image. Lost detail in overexposed highlights cannot be recovered in a JPEG.
In the past, photographers had to convert their raw images into JPEG or TIFF format before they could be printed. However, the growing popularity of the raw file format has encouraged several printer manufacturers to include facilities for printing raw files in some models in their printer range.
