how to adjust paragraph spacing in the designer editor so with any paragraph you can automatically adjust the space in between every paragraph for the whole document simply by selecting a paragraph going across the left here and selecting spacing now first of all if you want to adjust anything for the whole document then make sure this toggle is switched on that says make changes to all elements and so in this case i want to adjust the gap in between paragraphs for the whole document and so to do that i go to the bottom margin and i can simply click the up or down icons here to increase or decrease the spacing in between the paragraphs and that will adjust it for the whole project so if im having trouble squeezing some uh a whole document onto a limited number of pages and i can just decrease the or increase the paragraph spacing so that i can just get it onto the pages that i want to what i can also do is when im adjusting this toggle this margin item i can use the up and down arrow

In the most basic terms, a screenplay is a 90-120 page document written in Courier 12pt font on 8 1/2 x 11 bright white three-hole punched paper. Wondering why Courier font is used? Its a timing issue. One formatted script page in Courier font equals roughly one minute of screen time.
The basics of script formatting are as follows: 12-point Courier font size. 1.5 inch margin on the left of the page. 1 inch margin on the right of the page. 1 inch on the of the top and bottom of the page. Each page should have approximately 55 lines. The dialogue block starts 2.5 inches from the left side of the page.
To return to the regular view, go to View Ribbon View and: Go to View Show Ruler; Go to View Show Story Map.
The correct way to change the font of a script is at the Element level: Go to Format Elements (Mac) or Format Elements Settings (Windows) and click on the Font tab; Click Set Font; In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK; Click Apply Font/Size to All Elements;
Final Draft With your file open, go to Format Elements Settings (Windows) or Format Elements (Mac); Click Apply a Template; On Mac you will get a list of various formats. Select the format you want; OK your way back to the script and it will now be formatted in the template you chose.
Line spacing - The Final Draft file may have line spacing set to Tight or Very Tight line spacing. Under Fade In, that can be adjusted under Document Page Layout Line spacing.
Final Draft Click the Paragraph tab, click the element whose margins you want to alter and then click the up or down arrow next to the Left or Right margin under INDENTS. Note that the increments are measured from the left edge of the page -- a left indent of 1.5 is 1.5 from the left edge of the page.
Final Draft To change an elements side-to-side margins, go to Format Elements (Mac) or Format Element Settings (Windows). Click the Paragraph tab, click the element whose margins you want to alter and then click the up or down arrow next to the Left or Right margin under INDENTS.
