Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. Lets talk about margins in Pages. MacMost is brought to you thanks to a great group of more than 1000 supporters. Go to MacMost.com/patreon. There you can read more about the Patreon Campaign. Join us and get exclusive content and course discounts. Lets start with a word processing document. So here we have our default Body Text. You can see the cursor blinking in that. Lets say we want to setup specific margins. First to actually see what the margins are set to you want to go to the Sidebar here. Go to Document. Then in the document area of the Sidebar you can find Document Margins. You can see here they are set to one inch all the way around, top, bottom, left, right. Now if you actually want to see the margins on the page we can. We can actually do that one of two ways. The first way is to go to View and lets Show Ruler. This will show the ruler here at the top of the page. Im going to zoom out a little bit to 75%.

Set document margins for a word-processing document Click. in the toolbar, then click the Document tab at the top of the sidebar. In the Document Margins section, click the arrows or enter values in the fields next to Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.
Keep a paragraph on one page Right-click the paragraph that you want to keep together. In the box that opens, select Paragraph. In the Paragraph dialog box, click the Line and Page Breaks tab. In the Pagination section, select the Keep lines together check box, and click OK.
Choose Pages Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen). Click Auto-Correction at the top of the settings window. In the Formatting section, select the Use smart quotes and dashes checkbox. Click the pop-up menus for double and single quotes, and choose a style for each.
Go to  Apple menu and open System Preferences. Choose Keyboard and select the Text tab. Pull down the submenus alongside Double Quotes and Single Quotes and select your preferred quote style for each. Exit System Preferences when finished.
Choose Pages Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen). Click Auto-Correction at the top of the settings window. In the Formatting section, select the Use smart quotes and dashes checkbox. Click the pop-up menus for double and single quotes, and choose a style for each.
On the File tab, click Options. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following: Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select the Straight quotes with smart quotes checkbox.
To restore the original margin settings, click Margins and then click Custom Margins. Change the margins for Top, Bottom, Left, and Right to 1. Then click the Default button and click Yes.
Show or hide tab marks in Word Go to File Options Display. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off. Clear any check boxes for ones you dont want always displayed.
