A line-break can be added in HTML, using only CSS, by employing the pseudo-class ::after or ::before . In the stylesheet, we use these pseudo-classes, with the HTML class or id, before or after the place where we want to insert a line-break. In myClass::after : Set the content property to "\a" (the new-line character).
To do a line break in HTML, use the
tag. Simply place the tag wherever you want to force a line break. Since an HTML line break is an empty element, there's no closing tag. Below is an HTML file with a

and
element.

To make a horizontal line in HTML, use the
element. You can place the
element — which stands for “horizontal rule” — wherever you want to create a horizontal line across a web page. Like the img element, the
element is an “empty element” because it does not have a closing tag.
The \n character matches newline characters.
To add spacing between lines or paragraphs of text in a cell, use a keyboard shortcut to add a new line. Click the location where you want to break the line. Press ALT+ENTER to insert the line break.
The
tag interrupts the normal line filling and word wrapping of paragraphs within an HTML or XHTML document. It has no ending tag with HTML;[*] it simply marks the point in the flow where a new line should begin.
Type
where the line break should occur. There is no separate closing br tag....To insert a line break: The closing slash (/) is only required in XHTML documents to satisfy the rule that all elements be properly closed (see page 36). ... You can use multiple br tags to create extra space between lines or paragraphs.
The
tag inserts a single line break. The
tag is useful for writing addresses or poems. The
tag is an empty tag which means that it has no end tag.
The br tag is used to create a line break and is analogous to a carriage return. The flow of the display of the text and any images is halted on the current line, and the flow resumes on the next line starting at the left margin.
The
HTML element produces a line break in text (carriage-return).
