There are four required tags in HTML. These are html, title, head and body. The table below shows you the opening and closing tag, a description and an example. These are the tags you put at the beginning and end of an HTML file.
The tag comes in pairs. The content is written between the opening () and closing () tags. There are two ways to associate a text label and the form to which it belongs: Set the identifier (id) inside the element and specify its name as a for attribute for the tag.
Sometimes XHTML elements are referred to as tags, though many prefer the term tag strictly in reference to the semantic structures delimiting the start and end of an element.Tag. TagDescriptionDTDDeprecated. Defines centered textTFDefines a citationSTFDefines computer code textSTF86 more rows
An XHTML document must have an XHTML declaration. The , , , and elements must also be present, and the xmlns attribute in must specify the xml namespace for the document.
XHTML is an acronym for Extensible HyperText Markup Language. It is a subset of the Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) which is a system for organizing and defining parts of a document, like titles, or headings, or paragraphs, or images, through markup, also known as tagging.
To explicitly associate a element with an element, you first need to add the id attribute to the element. Next, you add the for attribute to the element, where the value of for is the same as the id in the element.
There are six heading tags in HTML: h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6. The tag represents the most important heading while is for the least important ones.
