From the Menu Bar, click the Apple icon and select System Preferences. Click Displays. Uncheck Automatically adjust brightness to turn it off. The brightness can then be manually adjusted using the slider.
Change Touch Bar settings On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, click Keyboard in the sidebar, then click Touch Bar Settings on the right. (You may need to scroll down.) Set options for the Touch Bar.
From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar. Click Transfer or Reset on the right. Click Erase All Content and Settings.
If you cant locate a system preference panel in System Settings, first use the Search feature. You may find the setting has been relocated elsewhere, like Sharing which is now tucked oddly under General. If nothing turns up in Search, the system preference was likely removed entirely.
