Well, imagine that you set up a spreadsheet and youre going to have other people filling it out, perhaps you only want them to fill out a cell with specific values and the drop-down list is the perfect way to make sure that people select from those specific values. Its actually very easy to set up and Im going to show you step by step how to do it so you too can create a drop-down list. All right. Well, enough talk. Lets jump on the PC. Open the Developer tab and click the Drop-Down List Content Control button to insert a drop-down button. You can customize the drop-down box by clicking Properties. A drop-down list in a Microsoft Word document lets people select from a predefined items list.
Place your cursor in the document where you want to add the drop-down list. Go to the Developer tab and click the Drop-Down List Content Control button. Youll see the control pop into your document as a box with Choose an item. inside. You can then move on to setting up the list.
Press Alt + down arrow button, then the drop-down list is expanded. Press down arrow to choose the value in drop-down list that you want to fill in cell, press Enter key to fill it in cell.
Add Drop Down choices Value is saved in the document for programmatic retrieval. If you need to make any changes simply click on the Display Name and select Modify, likewise if you need to delete the choice, you can select remove, or move the choices up and down on the list.

Edit a drop-down list with items that have been entered manually On the worksheet where you applied the drop-down list, select a cell that has the drop-down list. Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed.
By default, a data validation drop-down list only shows 8 items in the list when clicking the drop-down arrow. So you need to drag the scroll bar down for viewing more values in the list.
On the worksheet where you applied the drop-down list, select a cell that has the drop-down list. Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed.
The select tag in HTML is used to create a dropdown list of options that can be selected. The option tag contains the value that would be used when selected. The default value of the select element can be set by using the selected attribute on the required option.
The only way to increase the size of a Data Validation drop-down list is to increase the zoom percentage at which you view the sheet. See Make Drop Down Appear Larger for some workarounds.
