The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) proudly sponsors two professional certifications: The Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and the Certified Corporate FPA Professional (FPAC).
The passing standard allows for the pass rate to range anywhere from 0% to 100%, as each candidates performance is judged independently of the performance of other candidates. In recent testing windows, passing rates have ranged from 43 to 51%.
Why should you earn the CTP? Increases job security. Validates your competency in areas such as risk management, cash management, liquidity management and financial analysis functions.
To pass the CTP exam, candidates must earn a score of 300 or above. It may be comforting for you to know that at least 50% of the candidates who take the exam receive a passing grade! If take the computer-based test, you will receive an unofficial score report immediately after you complete the test.
Answer: Preparation time required for this exam depends on each candidates current knowledge, experience, reading speed, and comprehension. It is impossible to calculate how much time a specific individual would need to prepare, but we suggest 75-100 hours of reading and study time.
Those with the designation tend to earn higher incomes, have greater job security, and are better able to market themselves in the industry. The CTP designation is good for three years and requires recertification.
