Use the Formatting options page to specify how elements and attributes are formatted in your XML documents. To access XML formatting options, choose Tools Options Text Editor XML, and then choose Formatting.
Align a Paragraph To align left, press Ctrl + L. To align right, press Ctrl + R. To align center, press Ctrl + C. To justify, Ctrl + J.
Click Find Replace Text to replace text in the XML Editor. Find what -- Enter a search string or click the down arrow next to the input box to select from a list of previously entered search strings. Click the [] button to insert newlines (\n) and tabs (\t) into the search string.
To open an XML file in the XML editor, right-click it in the Navigator view and select Open With XML Editor. We recommend working in the Resource perspective when you are developing XML files. The views that appear by default in this perspective (such as the Outline view) help facilitate XML development.
To align XML or HTML documents, follows these steps:- Right click the XML document in the Project Navigator and select Alignment from the popup menu. Specify the name of the XML document that contains the translations you wish to align with. Each segment will be displayed in a list on the screen.
There are several ways to reduce the size of an XML file: Remove unnecessary white space and line breaks. Use shorter element and attribute names. Remove comments and processing instructions. Use a more efficient data format, such as JSON, if possible. Use data compression techniques, such as GZIP, to compress the file.
