my name is Megan Massie and me and my husband were licensed as foster parents in Fall of 2010 so the transition for me and my family uh prior to having a foster child in our home to after having a foster child in our home was uh a big a big change my husband and I um had been married for uh 3 years and um kind of decided to open up our home and bring kids in who needed a safe place to be and you know our biggest worry for the every day was you know what were we going to make for dinner what were our plans going to be for the weekend you know it was just we were we just were thinking about whatever we wanted to do and after bringing a child into your home and I think after bring whether its your biological child or welcoming a foster child those intentions and those plans shift to whatever that child needs and although that was a big change for us I I I think after a ma matter of time you know we we got into that role of being a family and um attending Court hearings or going to visits
