how do you know if something fits the easiest way to find out is to try it out unfortunately you cant try to change to a contract like you would with a puzzle piece changes to contracts can only be made using modifications but how do you know if a requested change fits or is within the scope of the contract you should consider how the change will impact quantity dollar value and schedule in general big changes in any of these areas dont fit in the contract or considered out of scope sometimes big changes may appear small for example your customer may want to increase the contract value by $5,000 at first glance this may appear to be a small change that fits however changes in dollar value depend on the total dollar value of the contract a $5,000 increase on a 1 million dollar contract may fit but a $5,000 increase on a $5,000 purchase order may not fit quantity changes can seem big or small as well do you think a quantity increase of 1 seems like a good fit likely but what if the ite
