if you have a wireless router at home youamp;#39;ve probably connected to that router to make configuration changes and when you first connect to that device it asks for a username and a password that username and password is often stored on the device itself we refer to that as local authentication because the credentials youamp;#39;re using are stored on that local device if you need to add another user you would log back into the device add that user credential and itamp;#39;s stored on that local machine if you change your password you have to change your password on this local device this could be a very manual process if you have to change your password across many different systems using local authentication if you have 10 different switches then youamp;#39;ll need to log into all 10 of those devices and make the password change on all 10 of those switches in a large corporate environment we would usually have these devices refer to a separate authentication server thatamp;

How to secure your authentication mechanisms Take care with user credentials. Dont count on users for security. Prevent username enumeration. Implement robust brute-force protection. Triple-check your verification logic. Dont forget supplementary functionality. Implement proper multi-factor authentication.
Implementing Authentication The user submits their credentials through a login form. The form sends a request that is handled by an API route. Upon successful verification, the process is completed, indicating the users successful authentication. If verification is unsuccessful, an error message is shown.
Change authentication mode with SQL Server Management Studio In SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Object Explorer, right-click the server, and then select Properties. On the Security page, under Server authentication, select the new server authentication mode, and then select OK.
There is NO WAY to change authentication method.
Basic authentication is a very simple authentication scheme that is built into the HTTP protocol. The client sends HTTP requests with the Authorization header that contains the Basic word followed by a space and a base64-encoded username:password string.
Configure security settings in the Web. config File In Solution Explorer, open the Web. config file. Change the authentication mode to Forms. Insert the tag, and fill the appropriate attributes. Deny access to the anonymous user in the section as follows:
An Authentication Credential is a unique set of credentials that links the credential owner to the credential with sufficient statistical confidence, typically used to authenticate the identity of an individual requesting access to restricted spaces.
Include authorization logic Define roles or user groups with different access levels or privileges. Establish rules and permissions that determine what each role can do within the web application. The authorization logic should be implemented based on the users role or privileges.
