Because if your baby was born prematurely, we simply cannot expect him or her to do what a full-term baby would. This is especially important for me as a physical therapist when I am assessing the development of such a baby. When determining reflexes, general movements or milestones, I need to know if a baby was born prematurely, because I need to give him or her more time to achieve certain goals. Lets get to the example. There are a few terms you need to know. First is the chronological age (or actual age). This is the period from premature birth to the present day, or in other words, the period that a child is in the world from the day of his early birth until today. Lets say today is the tenth of July and you gave a birth to
