hi this video is to show you how to put an employee on leave of absence the first thing that we do when an employee is going on leave of absence is we go into their employee record by going to the teams my team employee information and we select that employee and we click on their information button to open up their record now Ive created a leave tab on my employee records by going into the edit tabs and pulling in the information that I need for a leap of absence instance so on the leave tab I have the date so I can see when they begin employment Etc I have the personal information section and this is where were going to change them from active to either in my case I have a status called leave of absence no pay and the leave of absence in pay for our demonstration were going to say no pay and then we can even update manager information if needed on this tab so it depends on you can build this tab customize it however you need it Im going to click save to go ahead and update Dans

Unless you work under an employment contract that restricts your ability to end your job, you have the right to resign your position while you are out on medical leave.
FSA contributions will automatically continue to be withdrawn from your paycheck if you are continuing to receive pay while you are on leave. Medical expenses incurred during your leave may be reimbursed with your FSA.
For an HSA established by a self-employed (or unemployed) individual, the individual can contribute. Family members or any other person may also make contributions on behalf of an eligible individual. Contributions to an HSA must be made in cash. Contributions of stock or property are not allowed.
Health Savings Account If an employees leave is unpaid and they wish to make post tax contributions to their HSA, the individual will need to submit those contributions directly to the HSA vendor.
Provide a reason and a beginning and end date of leave (not to exceed one year). Make arrangements with immediate supervisor regarding return date before the leave expires. Request direct pay forms from the Attendance Clerk to continue medical benefits and make direct payment to insurance(s) carrier(s).
HSA contributions can be made outside of payroll and deducted on Form 8889. Employees should be careful to not contribute more than the Internal Revenue Code limit.
An HSA is an individual bank account and not a health plan, so the health plan continuation requirements under FMLA do not apply. However, the employer could choose voluntarily to continue HSA contributions during leave.
